Park Owners Associations
Many holiday parks in the UK have their own park owners associations made up of people who own static caravans on the site.
These organisations help to promote the views of owners to the park management teams and work best when the 2 parties work together to resolve issues and share ideas.
Like any voluntary organisation the direction of the group is very much lead by its members and we have heard of certain groups being very political and creating a ''them and us'' situation between owners and management staff.
Many people however find that as a group, owners can have more of an influence on key issues and promote a more cohesive argument.
The very best owners groups also arrange social events to enhance the ownership experience, gain news friends and pass on good advice to new members. Well organised associations often publish a newsletter which can be a useful guide development on the site and forthcoming events. Some groups also you their combined purchasing power to gain exclusive deals on essential items, such as caravan insurance.
When looking at a static caravan for sale on a UK holiday park it is a good idea to see if the site has an owners association. If it does it may be worth checking out their website online, or speaking to some of it members, to get a better feel for the site.
