Lift Store USA Has a Host of Stairlifts and Wheelchair Lifts for Residential Applications

Recent statistics have shown that there is a growing demand for Do-It-Yourself or DIY projects involving wheelchair lifts. The ever-growing Home Depot demographics combined with the ever increasing popularity of shopping on and using the internet has led to this conclusion. Individuals who are extremely handy and enjoy working on a wide range of DIY projects around the home are included in these ever-expanding demographics. These talented individuals do not feel the need to spend hundreds of dollars on the installation of these wheelchair lifts. Inclined wheelchair lifts that have been designed as residential applications so that the DIY’er can install them are now available at the Lift Store. The particular lift that the company offers enables individuals with severe mobility problems to go up or down their stairways while they are still in their mobility scooter or wheelchair which makes things extremely convenient for them. The inclined wheelchair lift has quite an advantage over a standard stairlift as it does not require the individual to get in and out of their mobility scooter or wheelchair in order to ascend and descend their stairs. Due to a number of different handicaps, health conditions, and other physical problems that individuals may be suffering from, the ability to maneuver in and out of a mobility scooter or wheelchair is not possible. This particular mobility lift has only recently been made widely available for residential applications as they are not as costly as those models that need to be installed by a professional. “By partnering with an industry leading manufacturer of mobility scooters and wheelchairs, the Lift Store now offers a highly affordable product that caters to the DIY’er and costs $1,000 less than other models currently on the market” says the Lift Store’s Director Dennis Corrado. He goes on to say that “they are extremely easy for any DIY’er to install these themselves.”

Donation of stairlift and recliner made to care unit

This past Thursday, a donation was made to the palliative care unit of one of the city’s local hospitals for the purposes of keeping a former member’s memory and participation in sorority activities alive. The Beta Sigma Phi XI Delta Portage la Prairie Chapter raised funds at a charity event held for former member Sheila Plunkett in order to purchase and donate a new chair to the hospital’s palliative care unit. Ms. Plunkett recently lost her fight with terminal cancer. Beta Sigma Phi is an international non-profit and non-service women’s organization that conducts numerous charity functions throughout the year in order to benefit individuals with different needs. Ann Latoski, the President of the sorority said that “the sorority is dedicating this exquisite leather recliner in memory of our long-time sorority sister Sheila Plunkett. This donation to the palliative care unit is in honor of her service and membership in Beta Sigma Phi.” Latoski went on to say that “donations of this nature including donation of stairlifts are always needed as they accommodate individuals who may be feeling a bit out of sorts and uncomfortable for a number of different reasons.” The price of the reclining chair was estimated at roughly $700. Additionally, husband and son both attended the dedication and presentation ceremony. Gordon stated that “for the Beta Sigma Phi sorority chapter to donate this in my wife’s name is a great gesture on their behalf. Sheila was a lifetime Beta Sigma Phi member for many years and very active in sorority activities. I lost her this past July and this chair serves to prolong her memory and everything she did while being involved in Beta Sigma Phi.” Mr. Plunkett informed those conducting the interview that Sheila had been a member of the sorority for nearly 33 years.

‘Cedar Blinds good for insulation,’ says blinds manufacturer

It is well known that one of the most cost-effective ways to enhance the ambience of the home while improving its aesthetics is by installing beautifully designed Venetian blinds. Due to the pending carbon tax that is schedule to go into effect in the middle of the year and the ever-increasing costs of electricity many Aussie homeowners are turning to Cedar Venetian Blinds to improve their home’s appearance and decrease the cost of electricity. No Worries Blinds owner Paul Loza was quoted as saying “cedar wood’s insulation value is higher than most woods and much higher than bricks or concrete. No Worries Blinds provides cedar Venetian blinds that create a more insulated type of window, leading to energy savings throughout your home.” He continued by saying that “heating and cooling costs will decrease dramatically. Installing Cedar Venetian blinds in medium to large size windows multiplies the insulation effect many times. This makes your winters cozy and warm without the huge expenses that regular heating costs bring.” Now you can get rid of those heavy, worn-out curtains or drapes that are full of allergens and dust so your home will be a healthier environment to live in, especially if there are younger children around. You will be able to protect your appliances from short circuiting and overheating while keeping you furniture from getting discolored and faded. Another one of the key benefits of having Cedar Venetian Blinds installed in your home is that they are eco-friendly. Eco-friendly products are manufactured from materials that come from well-managed plantation re-growth. Natural oils contained in the cedar heart wood prevent attacks from insects and decay because they act as natural preservatives. When it is properly finished and maintained, Cedar wood ages gracefully and can last for many years while bringing beauty, elegance, and style to your home.

Solar Solve Marine company making window blinds for airports

According to Solar Solve Marine company officials, “the sky’s the limit” for a new business venture recently introduced by the long-establish company in South Tyneside as they have widened their product assortment by adding anti-glare screens for the shipping industry. After launching their aviation division, they are now moving in a new commercial direction. Bournemouth Airport recently contracted to the South Shields company to manufacture sunscreens for the facility’s air traffic controller towers. The facility has tight delivery deadlines so in order to facilitate their needs, Solar Solve sent two of their installation technicians to measure the control tower windows and advise the company as to what would be needed to complete the job. While Solar Solve was manufacturing the sunscreens, the company technicians were removing the older blinds as the airport so that the anti-glare screens could be installed within 24 hours. The air traffic control staff members can now work in a more comfortable and safer environment as a result of having these new sunscreens installed. John Lightfoot, Solar Solve’s chairman stated “When researching Bournemouth Airport, which is part of the Manchester Airports Group, I was not surprised to see that they have won a number of awards for quality and service.” He went on to comment that “our experience of working with Mike Porto, airside engineering manager, his colleagues, and the air traffic controllers on duty during the installation confirm the fact that they are a dedicated group of people who are motivated by quality, service and co-operation.” Julie Lightfoot, managing director at Solar Solve, also commented that “We thank them for this opportunity to be of service. We have been supplying exactly the same Solasolv product range for the navigation bridge windows on ships very successfully for 24 years, as well as the occasional air control tower for the past 10 years.”

Gustnado hits mobile park homes

Gustnado hits mobile park homes

The residents of a San Tan Valley mobile home park are still cleaning up after a “gustnado” (short for "gust-front tornado") and a microburst generated by an extremely strong spring weather storm system ripped through the park this past Wednesday evening. San Tan Valley is located in the southeastern suburbs of the greater Phoenix metro area in the northern Pinal County area. Witnesses residing in the Pheasant Valley Mobile Home Park located near Germann and Ironwood Roads saw 20 mobile homes damaged by the storm, some of which was quite severe. The park is the winter and spring home to many “snowbirds” (visitors from colder climates). As many of them have returned to their home states for the time being it is estimated that only 6 or so were home when the storm took its toll on the park. One of the homes was probably in the path of the microburst even though it looked like it had been hit by a tornado. The home was left in shreds after the high winds had torn the roof off of it. Park residents Dave Acre and his wife were inside their homes when the storm hit stating that "the whole place just went over." Fortunately, no injuries were recorded. According to Rural Metro firefighters, the winds were so strong that debris from the park was found up to a quarter of a mile away. Meteorologists say that what occurred was a gustnado (see above), a vortex or low level rotating cloud that spins just ahead of a gust front in a storm system A gustnado doesn’t drop from the clouds like a tornado nor does it have the massive power of one. April Warnecke, 3TV Meteorologist, explained "that's the reality of these Arizona storms. We have just a slight chance, but when they do hit, they can be very strong."

Static caravan safety advice renewed by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service

Static caravan safety advice renewed by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service

Due to a pair of incidents that occurred over the bank holiday weekend, campers and caravanners in the Flintshire area are being told to take extra safety precautions when using their static caravans on holiday. The first incident involved a 47-year old man and woman who were seriously injured when trying to escape from their 26-foot long static caravan in Caernarfon which was engulfed in flames. The man’s face and hands were seriously burned while the woman suffered from smoke inhalation. The second incident involved Hannah Thomas-Jones, a 14-year old girl from Wilmslow in Cheshire who was found dead alongside her unconscious brother, mother, and stepfather in their tent in Shropshire. Evidently, she died from carbon monoxide poisoning as a disposable barbeque was found in close proximity to her body. It appears that the family was using it to generate warmth inside the tent. Senior fire safety manager Gareth Griffiths of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was quoted as saying that “Fire can strike at any time, anywhere – and it is vital that we are all on our guard and try to do all that we can to keep safe. Caravans and tents are potentially more hazardous as the inherent risks are magnified in confined spaces.” He continued in the interview by saying that “the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning from a barbecue left to smoulder cannot be over emphasised – portable barbecues must always be used in an area with proper ventilation, preferably outside, due to the potential rapid build up of the deadly gas.” It is well known that even low levels of exposure to carbon monoxide is capable of causing dizziness, flu-like symptoms, and headaches. Additionally, carbon monoxide gases can quickly render anyone unconscious. The exposure can even be fatal and kill a person within minutes of the exposure.

MP of Wyre Forest supports the fight against static caravan tax

MP of Wyre Forest supports the fight against static caravan tax

In an effort to put an end to the caravan tax proposed by the Coalition Government the MP of Wyre Forest has sent a petition to the numerous caravan parks throughout the district. Over 2,500 static caravans are facilitated the 26 local caravan parks which will all be affected by this tax. Mark Garnier, a member of Parliament for the Wyre Forest district and a member of the British Conservative Party, has focused his work on the forest’s constituency including the economic, educational, and healthcare development. He was elected to Parliament in the 2010 general election. He has taken his fight against the static caravan tax to those individuals who enjoy caravanning in the Wyre Forest district in the hopes of defeating the proposed measure. Mr. Garnier strongly believes that this tax will seriously damage the Wyre Forest’s tourism industry. At the same time, the Trade Association is claiming that there could be as much as a 30% in the sale of static caravans as a result of the tax being imposed as well as fewer rentals. In a recent interview, Mr. Garnier told the press that static caravanning and “tourism is a significant driver of Wyre Forest’s local economy. It is vital that we do everything we can to preserve this industry.” He also went on to say “that is why I, and a number of my colleagues, are taking action to persuade the Coalition Government of the error of its ways and to convince it to allow the zero tax status quo to be maintained.” In response to Clause 6 entitled “VAT (Value Added Tax) on caravans” Mr. Garnier was quoted as saying that “the written evidence given to the Treasury Committee by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales states that these VAT changes are broadly sensible reforms, but will still leave plenty of anomalies.”

Tips To Get A Good Price When You Sell Static Caravan Yorkshire

Tips To Get A Good Price When You Sell Static Caravan Yorkshire

Many individuals are unsure as to what they need to do in order to sell their static caravan Yorkshire location and get a good price on it when they do. Although the task may seem a bit daunting initially, there are some things you can do in order to ensure a smoother sales process and to get the best price possible when selling your static caravan in the county of Yorkshire or anywhere else in the UK for that matter. Normally, the asking price on a static caravan Yorkshire will be based on the make and model of it as well as its age and overall condition. You can start determining what the asking price will be by searching online for pre-owned static caravans in the Yorkshire region and seeing what people are asking for one in similar condition. When you do find one that is similar to yours, there are a few things that you will want to do. Look at when the advertisement was first listed in order to find out how long it has been for sale. If it has been listed for a considerably long time, there is a good possibility that people seeing the ad feel that it is overpriced. Another factor that many buyers tend to look at is the amount of the sites fees at the particular static caravan Yorkshire park where it is set up. Are the site fees included in the price or not? If the static caravan Yorkshire is being sold on-site, most parks are going to charge a commission fee which is oftentimes referred to as a transfer fee when the static caravan is sold. So you need to find out if this applies to the static caravan Yorkshire park where it is set up. Hopefully, the above information will make things a little easier for you and that you will get a good price when you sell your static caravan.

Liposuction and Weight Loss

14/05/2012
Liposuction and Weight Loss

Liposuction and weight loss go hand-in-hand in that the procedure results in the reduction and removal of fatty cells and tissue in the body therefore decreasing the weight of the individual that the procedure is performed on. It typically works on those areas of the body that are diet and exercise resistant. In most cases, liposuction targets the abdomen, buttocks, cheeks, chin, and thighs. Benefits of the procedure According to the American Journal of Medicine, several medical benefits have been evidenced by having liposuction performed. The journal states that 82% of the individuals who had liposuction performed had reversed their diabetes within the first two years after the procedure was done. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine noticed that the fertility rate of obese women increased after having liposuction and weight loss resulted. Finally, the Journal of American Medical Association states that hypertension was drastically reduced and even eliminated after having had the procedure performed. Additional considerations Although liposuction and weight loss can be viewed as a cause and effect, the procedure does not prevent a person from gaining weight again. In order to maintain weight loss, the individual needs to maintain their weight after having liposuction done by following a regimen of proper nutrition, exercise, and participating in physical activities. Therefore, it is important to remember that obesity cannot be cured with liposuction alone. Warnings As with a number of other surgical procedures, liposuction has its inherent risks. Potential side effects include blood clots or clots, excessive body fluid loss, nerve and skin damage, and reactions to the mixture of fluids used in the procedure. Individuals who have larger amounts of liposuction done are at greater risk of experiencing these side effects. Finally, any individual with certain medical problems such as heart or lung disease and poor blood circulation run a higher risk for experiencing serious complications.

Electricity Market Reform Bill proposed by the Queen

Electricity Market Reform Bill proposed by the Queen

In the speech delivered by the Queen at the state opening of Parliament, she has proposed reforms to electricity market stating that her government is proposing these in the hope that the electricity will become affordable, safe and clean with cost effective prices. Additionally, legislation will be introduced promoting the establishment of the Green Investment Bank. These electricity market reforms would allow large-scale investments in the capacity of low carbon generating within the UK while at the same time securely delivering this energy supply at affordable prices. The reform will see the revamping of the electricity generation infrastructure and the UK is ready to invest £110 billion in this endeavor. A DECC spokeswoman commented on the pending Energy Bill by saying that “the legislation is critical in that it calls for the reform of the electricity market in order to keep emissions to a minimum while keeping everyone’s lights on in the process. There are certain incentives built into the legislation as well such as investing in low-carbon operations. In so many words, investors in the solar power industry will have more certainty as to the return on their investments.” Gaynor Hartnell, the Chief Executive of the REA, responded to the Queen’s speech by saying “We are anxious to read the details of the new Energy Bill. It appears that this legislation will stabilize prices for electric generators that operate using renewable power regardless of what direction electricity costs move in.” Nick Winser, the National Grid Executive Director, seemed elated over the news saying that “this generational mix of consumers is changing all the time, so effective and productive investments need to be made in order to keep the industry operating cost-effectively while providing significant savings for the consumer.” Winser also commented about maintaining their commitment to working closely stakeholders in the industry and the DECC as well.

Cameron urged to stop the solar energy subsidies for July

Cameron urged to stop the solar energy subsidies for July

Prime Minister David Cameron has been urged by more than 400 solar power companies and their executives to halt his planned cuts to subsidies for solar energy which will go into effect in July. According to the executives, they believe that Prime Minister Cameron should intervene in the matter personally and that he should stop the subsidies before it is too late. Cut Don’t Kill Campaign spokesperson Howard Johns challenged the depth of the critical FiT cuts made on March 3rd, which resulted in the rates being slashed by over 50%. The DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) was criticized in the letter. Johns states that “The prices for panel installation had fallen 50% by April of this year compared to a year ago. According to Johns, “it could take up to 160 years in order to provide the watts of solar energy that was the Government targeted 2020 amount to be generated because of this nose dive that has occurred.” Two reasons for abandoning the planned cuts in July were presented in the letter and quoted as follows: “First, you have to convince skeptical consumers that solar power is an excellent value for the money. Any changes due to tariffs is going to make the consumer even more skeptical and harder to convince of the long-term benefits that solar power can provide.” Additionally, Johns states that “the industry must be given an opportunity to regain its composure and place in the environment. As it currently stands, 93% of the solar power and installation companies here in the UK have serious concerns about the future of the industry. In our job sector alone, there were more than 6,000 individuals who have been unemployed since last year’s summer season.” Cameron was also reminded of his pledge that the government would keep the promise of renewable energy commitments that he made at the Clean Energy Ministerial.
