Hull static caravan factory relocates to Gilberdyke
Victory Leisure Homes was established in 2009, built on the site for Cosalt Holiday Homes near East Hull on at Stoneferry Road. The company, owned by JR Rix and Sons, mainly a family firm, started with just 32 employees. They have brought six static caravan models in the market. At present, there are 80 employees working in the company. Currently the production deals with 17 models of static caravans designed to cater to the British and European market. There are also six models of holiday lodges containing two units.
The company has decided to relocate its present place because of the expansion in the business and is relocating to the former home of Britspace. The Rix Group has already bought the land along with factory from the owners though the price ha snot been disclosed.
The Managing Director of Victory Leisure Homes, Peter Nevitt mentioned, “We were striving hard to work and seek a new place somewhere. What Britspace underwent was sad but gave us a chance that we wanted. It opened up new vistas for us that could not be ignored.”
The factory that is coming up is spread over an area of 8000 sq. km. It even has an access to a network of motorway. The company officials reveal that the full scale production is likely to start at the site from the beginning of April.
The Mr. Nevitt said, “This is a fact that when we stared out business, we had to begin during the recession and now when the recession is deepening, we are relocating due to the company’s expansion.”
Mr Nevitt feels that the special customer support provided by the company has aided expansion. Director of JR Rix And Sons, Rory Clarke said: “Due to recession, people are more interested in holidaying in UK and that has led to an increase in the sales of static caravans.”
