Considering Subletting

The aim of our caravan was to provide a base for family holidays and short break to attend key season events such as Cowes Week. Our intention was to offer the caravan to My Holiday Caravan employees and close friends and family, when we did not require it. As a result we chose not to sublet to holiday makers. You can read more about these visits in our blog area.

We could however see the financial benefits of subletting, especially in peak season to generate income to contribute towards our annual site fees. There may also be tax relief available for owners who sublet to offset some ownership costs against tax.

Park Resorts offer a management service for subletting your caravan offering advertising & booking service, additional insurance and cleaning. Alternatively owners can manage the process themselves and pay no commission, this work well if you have lots of contacts, family, friends or work colleagues that may wish to book a stay at a subsidised rate.

If you intent to sublet you need to be aware that your new purchase will be used by others and may suffer more wear and tear. Subletting will also obviously restrict your own use.
