Intro

Time for a 2 week break at the caravan and a chance to really enjoy our trial buy caravan.

This is where you can get some real value, as a peak season 2 week holiday at Thorness bay would be very expensive and for us as owners we have no holiday accommodation costs at all. Many owners we spoke to on site take very long summer holidays sometimes for the full duration of the school summer holidays.

Visits

In the first week of August each year Cowes hosts the world’s biggest yachting regatta ''Cowes Week''.

Cowes is less than a 10 min drive from Thorness and the town comes alive as competitors arrive from around the world. We would recommend a drink on the marina (free entrance) as it is a perfect view point. We also watched the extreme 40 cat’s race very close to Egypt point, between Gurnard and Cowes mines from our holiday home.

Check out the amazing Red Arrows followed by an impressive firework display on the Friday night.

Everyone on site was taking about Blank Gang Chine so it was time to try it out!!! We had a great day at this private themed adventure park set on the cliffs above Niton on the West tip of the Isle of Wight. This attraction has a lot of charm and some great water rides and worth the entry fee especially if you stay all day. We would recommend Black gang Chine for those with young children especially.

Ownership

We also had the opportunity to add some improvements to the interior of the caravan, such as;

Lounge: Photo Frames with holiday photos

Bedrooms: New Curtains, New Bedside Laps

Kitchen: Plastic Glasses, Washing up bowl

Bathroom: New mats

These late evenings are making us think that a veranda would have been a nice extra to have for alfresco dinning and sitting with a VT in the evening. Maybe we will consider this if we upgrade at a later stage.

We also had our first Sunday roast cooked from scratch in the caravan.

Site feels much busier especially in the pool and shop, owners area is a good sanctuary away from any noise.
