Our spot at the Isle of Wight festival!!!

Owners Blog June

Intro

We were very excited when we picked up the keys from the general manager at Thorness Bay this month.
Although our caravan is second hand it was fully cleaned, had starter food packs and free soft toys for the kids (nice touch).
What a month, this is what ownership is all about!!!

Visits

We used the caravan on back to back weekends for;

1) The JP Morgan Round the Island yacht race

One of our family was competing in the race and the rest of us used the caravan as a base and took some great shots from ''Fort Victoria'' at 07:30 am as nearly 2000 Yachts sailed past. We then headed to Brading Down to watch the boats sail down the south side of the IOW. Great event great buzz in Cowes to, like Cowes week but a little less busy.

The Isle of Wight has many marine events including powerboat racing and Cowes week. If you are visiting The Island look out for any such events.

2) The Isle of Wight Festival

The Isle of Wight Festival is a very family friendly music festival and perfect for beginners like us, it was time to find out what's behind the hype?

Before picking up the keys we ensured that insurance arrangements were in place to cover the caravan and its contents.

Ownership

We were a little worried about the responsibility of ownership, but in month one there was not much to do really as all maintenance work had been completed prior to purchase.

We did however have to ensure that appropriate insurance cover was in place, we researched details and prices online with numerous companies.

Also decided to put together a file to keep all paperwork and bills in one place.
