Talacre Beach Park – situated alongside the miles of golden sands by the northern Wales gateway is Talacre Beach Park. The small village by the same name features the famed 17th century lighthouse, ancient sand dunes, and a nature reserve. It’s the ideal spot for a static caravan. Talacre Beach Park has won numerous awards including the David Bellamy Silver Award for Conservation, Wales in Bloom, and Wales Tourist Board 5 Stars. The park was also a finalist for the Calor Award for Best Park in Wales.
The tree-lined grounds and well-maintained grounds is a haven for escaping the pressure and stress of everyday life. There is a wide range of indoor activities and facilities available where parents and grandparents alike can relax while the kids are enjoying the weather-proofed atmosphere inside during the 10 months of the year the park is open.
The experienced and qualified staff at the Pool and Leisure Complex will make the time more enjoyable by sponsoring the following activities:
o Aqua Fun - basketball, surfboard racing, water hockey, and water rounders
o Aeroball – a combination of basketball, trampolining, and volleyball skills where pairs of participants compete in a round-robin tournament in an enclosed trampoline for several minutes.
o Archery - this sport takes place in the nearby paddock and is geared to beginners and experienced archers
o Circus Skills - participants have an opportunity to learn how to handle Diablo’s (devil sticks), spinning plates, and even juggling (involves basic dexterity and coordination)
o Fencing - children work with instructors to learn the fencing’s basic principles such as the lunge, parry, riposte, and stance (Note: they cannot compete against one another until they learn these)
o Mountain Biking - a challenging trail featuring plenty of fun and stops along this guided bike ride
o Swimming Lessons - qualified instructors teach swimming skills as well as coaching stroke improvement
o Soccer Skills – 8 to 15-year olds learn how to improve their “on-the-ball” skills and techniques by experienced coaches of the game
